This is a help file that will explain how to setup email in Outlook to use with the Platinum Web Service.

Click here to return to the main Platinum Help Center

The first thing that you will want to do is open your Email Accounts settings in Outlook. Please refer to the picture at the left to see how to do that.

After clicking on the E-mail Accounts menu item, you will see the next screen.
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, then click the Next button.
Click the Add button to continue your setup process.
Select POP3 as the Server Type and click Next.
This is the most important screen in the email account setup. In this screen you will insert the following information:
User Information: Your Name: This is your real name, as you want people to see as your given name.
User Information: E-mail Address: This is your email address, in the form of username@yourdomainname.com.
This is the standard email account that you setup in the Platinum Email Control Center.
Server Information: Incoming mail server (POP3): This is your domain name which is hosted through the Platinum Web Service.
Server Information: Outgoing mail server: Enter "diamond.homegauge.com" (without the quotation marks)
Logon Information: User Name: This is the same as the E-mail Address.
Logon Information: Password: This is the password that you set in the Platinum Email Contron Center for this standard email account.
You can also click Remember password if you are the only one using the computer so that you only have to enter your password once.
You will need to click the More Settings button to continue.
Choose the Outgoing Server tab in the Internet E-mail Settings window that opens.

Enter in your account name and password. Check the "Remember password".
Choose the Advanced tab in the Internet E-mail Settings window.

Make sure that the Incoming Server (POP3): Port Number is 110 and that the Outgoing Server (SMTP): Port Number is 587.

Click "OK" to close that window, then click "OK" to continue.
Click the Finish button as shown on the left and you will then be able to check your Platinum email through Outlook.
