Setting up your Platinum Email with Outlook Express

The first thing that you will want to do is open your Accounts settings in Outlook Express. Please refer to the picture at the left to see how to do that.

After clicking on the Accounts menu item, you will see the next screen.
Choose the Mail tab, then click the Add button and choose the Mail menu item.
Enter in your real name and click Next to continue.
Enter your email address, with the name and domain of the email address. This is the same information as you set up in the standard email address in the Platinum Email Control Center. Click the Next button to continue.
Select POP3 from the "incoming mail server" list, and enter in your domain name that you are hosting with the Platinum Web Service as the Incoming Mail Server.

Enter 'diamond.homegauge.com' for your Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server.

Click the Next button to continue.
The Internet Mail Logon screen is where you enter the account name that you choose for this email address. You will also need to enter the password that you set for the standard email address in the Platinum Email Control Center. You can also check the Remember password box if this is a private computer so you do not have to enter the password each time you run Outlook Express. Click Next to continue.
Choose the Finish button to continue.
Click the account name that you just set up to continue. In this example to the left, the testserver.com account has been selected.
Click the Properties button to continue.
In the new window that will open, click the Servers tab and then check the "My server requires authentication" check box, and click the Settings button to continue.
In this window enter your account name and password.

Click "OK" to continue.
Click the Advanced tab and then make sure that the Outgoing mail (SMTP): port number is 587, and the Incoming Mail (POP3): port number is 110.

Click the "OK" button, then the "OK" button again on the next screen, then finally the "Close" button to finish configuring your Outlook Express program to work with the Platinum Email.
You are now set up to use Outlook Express with the Platinum Web Services.
